Pop star Rihanna’s victory in a legal case against Topshop over the use of her image has been upheld by the Court of Appeal, which backed an earlier judgment against the British fashion chain.

It seems that for some their New Year’s resolutions are more drastic than giving up chocolate or cigarettes. Maybe it’s the gloomy, cloudy and cold winter weather finally setting in or maybe it’s a crash from the stress of the holidays.

The number of people using motor vehicles continues to grow at speed! Despite improvements to the manufacture of vehicles, road traffic accidents do occur and unfortunately people do get injured. Innocent people who suffer pain, anxiety and financial loss through someone else’s negligence deserve compensation.

There has been some press coverage and a recent article in The Times on March 6 2013 about the grim reality facing footballers upon retirement. According to statistics released by Xpro, a charity for ex-players, a massive 3 out of 5 players are bankrupt within five years of retirement.

Here at GHW Solicitors we have been discussing Curtis Woodhouses’ somewhat amusing response to a twitter account holder “trolling” him for losing fights earlier this week. Apparently the former professional footballer turned professional boxer found out the trolls address and turned up to his road, tweeting a picture of the street sign to prove his whereabouts, and challenged the troll to meet him face to face.
